Dear Grace

Listening Tim Ferris interview Elizabeth Gilbert on his podcast this Fall, I was reminded of the her Letters from Love practice and began to write myself letters in the morning before heading into my day. Recently, I am have been playing embodying a persona named Grace Rose - a side of me that is full of compassion for myself - the beauty and the thorny parts too. Here’s a recent letter I received from love.

It’s as much for me as it is for you, for love is and for all of us.

Dear Grace,
You must know you are loved and forgiven. Release all the stories you have told yourself that lead you to believe otherwise. You are strong and wise. You are you—and that is worthy of love, especially your own love.

Lean into yourself. Feel your extraordinary body as it holds and carries you through life. It is a magnetic, energetic bundle of energy. It can be channeled. It can run free and relax. It is meant to oscillate and be a beautiful resource. Love it for what it is. Take care of it. Be kind to it. Treat it like the treasure it is—both fragile and strong.

Tend to it as you would your garden. Look at it with wondrous eyes and gratitude for what is there. Welcome it to be open and all it can be. Invite healing where there are wounds. You and your body are a miracle.

Return to this truth, and life will become lighter.
